Ratings: Struggle Through the Smiles

The last 2 seasons it felt like Mob Wives was VH1′s headline show even if the ratings didn’t really justify it. Now that VH1 has moved on to singing the praises of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, this show is more of the forgotten show hanging in the middle. It has to face the reality that it’s not exactly the hit VH1 wants it to be but it airs on a night that VH1 gets destroyed on and it still puts up acceptable numbers. Personally I wonder what VH1 is going to do about that (other than probably be forced to give it yet another season).

  1. Where is my border? And Mob Wives is back? Mann, I am seriously out of it.
    Thanks for the post, Matic.

  2. Mann America is not here for black people as leads on a Network drama. How is Deception struggling? It’s not brilliant but it deserves more than 3 million.

    1. America is not here for anything NBC has to offer unless it’s The Voice or NFL football….but this is true. NBC had a drama last season (The Undercovers was the name I believe) that had 2 black leads and that got canceled right away. As far as I know there are only like 2 pilots in contention across all 5 broadcast networks that even have 1 black lead in them so sad state of affairs there.

  3. Mob Wives has been on since the first week of January lol. This is episode 7 (only highlighted it because the last 2 episodes were under a million viewers).

    1. You have got to be kidding me.

      1. Not at all

  4. I haven’t watched Mob Wives since the beginning of season 1 but I think the reason all of the fans stopped watching is cause this season seems really boring judging by the trailer and commercials

    1. Mob Wives (season average wise) is really only down like 150-200k from season 1 and 2. The ratings just kinda look like they suck because.

      1. The Monday shows are pulling much better numbers than from 2 years ago.

      2. Mob Wives always has good starts that keep the average inflated higher than it really should be.

      3. Everything else VH1 puts on Sundays sucks so hard that the ratings are basically invisible unless you look for them so Mob Wives looks like it has bad ratings because you can find them with relative ease.

  5. Cult looks like it’s not going to last. Not only is that viewership low, but most people seem to think the show is shit. I kind of enjoyed it though.

    1. I like Cult, but CW should’ve never axed Emily Owens! Also 90210 needs to go; those ratings are terrible. At least The Carrie Diaries did better than Gossip Girl’s final season! Cult should’ve been paired with Vampire Diaries or Nikita for better results.

New Normal, Being Human and Total Blackout goes down. WTF?! NBC should know better to put Grimm and Revolution on the back burner. I really hope Hannibal will do better than that dreaded Do No Harm.

      1. Speaking of Cult…ratings were bad again last night (820k, 0.3) so The CW is moving it to Fridays starting next week (as in the next new episode won’t air until March 8th) so yea it’s going to get paired with Nikita now. They are just going to use the Tuesday slot for reruns now.

  6. Sounds good to me! But that’s also the return of Grimm, so NBC better pray it doesn’t flop!

    1. NBC needs every type of prayer they can possibly find, make or buy to make sure Grimm and Revolution don’t flop when they come back.

      1. when is grimm coming back? This is such a long hiatus it is ridiculous.

      2. It’s coming back next Friday (March 8th)
