The morning after sex with Rebekah isn’t a good one for Stefan. (A clingy bitch is bad enough but a clingy vampire bitch is x times worse). As he tries to sneak out of the bedroom he finds Klaus waiting for him. Kol has stolen Klaus’ daggers and he needs Stefan to convince Rebekah to part with her dagger.

Indeed Kol is the topic de jour as Elena enlists Bonnie in her scheme to kill Kol. As they speak, Elena is burned by the tap water and later, we discover Bonnie’s father has dumped vervain into the water supply. When the conversation ends Kol attacks Bonnie but she zaps him with that migraine thing she does. (Sigh)

With time running out and Kol becoming increasingly desperate, Elena puts her plan into action by calling Kol and suggesting a truce. Elsewhere, Klaus vampire-sits Damon, who, you recall, is locked up having been compelled by Kol to kill Jeremy. Klaus is baby-sitting because Stefan has taken Rebekah to the school dance. The Dance was cancelled by Bonnie’s father but Bekah is always up to recapture the childhood she missed so Stefan sees this a s the perfect opportunity to get her dagger.

Later she makes a grand speech about wanting to be human and voluntarily relinquishes the dagger to Stefan. Touched, Stefan decides against the plan to dagger her.

Back at the Gilberts, Kol has been invited inside. He is skeptical about her offer of a truce and leaves only to return again and confront her and Jeremy. Despite being an original he is overpowered by them both with the assistance of vervain tap water and killed. Klaus arrives just in time to see his brother fatally staked and vows revenge… forever.
Importantly, though not logically, killing Kol attributes his entire sire line to Jeremy and his hunter’s map is revealed to all.
