Rock of Love 2 Finale Episode watched by a record 5 million viewers

It felt like a really good season of Rock of Love and now the numbers prove it was a successful season as well.
The season finale of Rock of Love 2 with Bret Michaels “scored an impressive 3.5 18-49 rating, making it the #1 program on all of cable for the week. The all-new episode averaged 5 million total viewers, and 3.9 million viewers in the P18-49 demographic. The finale also ranks as the 4th highest-rated telecast in VH1 history.”
Jeff Olde, the EVP (Executive Vice president, I am guessing) of Original programming and Production at VH1, knows who was key to the season’s success, saying “at the core of this series we have a rock icon in Bret Michaels who lives, loves and parties like a rock-star and he does it with a genuine heart of gold.”
Overall the season maintained it’s viewership throughout, pulling 2.6 million viewers for its Premier Episode and averaging an impressive 2.7 million viewers for the entire season.
And, having seen video of the Rock of Love Reunion Special, we can expect major numbers when that is aired at 9:pm on April 20th.
I’ll be watching.

I have a question. How does Bret’s rating’s compare to FOL 3 ratings?
I have no idea, but the first two seasons of Flavor of Love averaged over 3 million viewers.
Flav’s 7.5 million for the Reunion Show is still the highest ever.
I suspect he averages about the same as Rock of Love
I thought Rock of Love rated much better than Flavor of Love this time?
Which reunion had 7.5 million viewers? Season 1 or 2?
It seems like VH1 considers any show that averages over 2.5 million viewers to be a hit.
I believe 2…lemme go check The Blogspot.
Oh! Lol…never mind.
That is a hit for Cable television, ‘Matic.
When you get to 3, almost 4 as Flavor of Love did…that’s like an American idol.
For example, the week the Reunion Show got 7.5 was either the same week or the week before the Soprano’s final Episode and that got like 11 million.
So that’s why they keep giving us these shows even though we have caught on to the fact that most of them are fake.
I was wrong….It was the Flavor of Love 2 Finale that drew 7.5 million viewers.
And yes ‘Matic; they make money and are successful.
I remember being so pissed off at the end of that finale. I think that’s was when I was truly convinced that Flav was an absolute idiot.
steups this is for you
sofia vergara
To me this season of ROL was much better than last so I can see the high rating for the last ep, I didn’t even watch the last ep of the first season, just read about who won the next day..the reunion show should be good though!
And yes, at least pretend for a few weeks that you like the person you picked, makes me think even more he choose Ambre because she would be easier to get rid of after shooting.
wow.. that’s a good point.. the one about ambre being easier to get rid of…
i need to watch season 1 to be able to compare
Watch out, world. Flavor Flav is getting serious.
Sure, he still peppers his conversation with some “Yeahhhh, boyeeee!” and every now and then he busts out one of those wild cackles that have made him one of hip-hop’s most recognizable rappers of the past two decades as part of Public Enemy.
But as Flav talks about his first sitcom, “Under One Roof” (premiering tonight at 8 on MyNetworkTV/9), something is clearly different with him, even from his persona on his hit reality show “Flavor of Love.”
“It’s a brand-new challenge,” Flav says, calling from the set in Vancouver. “And I call it a challenge for myself because I have a serious case of CRS – Can’t Remember Stuff. In order to make it in the sitcom world, you’ve got to be able to remember stuff and I said, ‘Flav, you can do it, but prove this to nobody but yourself first, then prove it to the world, second. I’m proving it to myself so far and when you guys get these episodes, that’ll be my proof to you, too.”
A natural comedian
Darryl J. Quarles, executive producer of “Under One Roof,” says the concept seemed perfect for Flav and that his performance has pleasantly surprised everyone involved. “He’s just a natural,” Quarles says. “He’s some sort of comedic savant. He’s just been smashing it from the beginning. This is a ‘fish-out-of-water’ story, but with Flav it’s more like a ‘whale out of water.’”
Flav (real name: William Drayton) says he was drawn to the show because he could relate to his character, Calvester Hill, an ex-convict who goes to live with his wealthy brother and his family when he gets out of prison. The twist is that his brother can’t kick him out because Calvester took the rap for stealing a car when they were younger.
“While I’m sitting in jail, he’s out doing his thing, going through school, going to an Ivy League college, and he becomes this big corporate black Donald Trump,” Flav says. “They have a high-class way of living, and I disrupt the house with my streety ways.”
To get into his role, Flav, 49, says he draws on his experiences growing up on Long Island. “I got my street-smart ways from growing up in Freeport and Roosevelt and also from the Bronx,” he says. “What I learned in Freeport, a lot of the stuff I learned when I was young, I apply to my life today. I learned how to survive. And just in case, if I couldn’t get a job, to this day, I still know how to go out on the street and hustle and make a living. I know how to go to an abandoned house and get the copper pipes out the well and put it in a shopping cart and take it to the place to sell the copper.”
Of course, Flav won’t have to hawk copper – or return to delivering Newsday, a job he says he held from 1978 to 1982 – any time soon. Though the current season of “Flavor of Love” will be his last one for VH1, he is working on another reality show with the channel. “It’s starting to be too repetitious,” he says, explaining his exit, even though the show is still cable’s top-rated show, “and people are starting to think I really can’t find love.”
It’s time to act
His other job in Public Enemy is heating up as well, set to tour Europe this summer and with a high-profile appearance headlining the Pitchfork Music Festival in July to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the hip-hop classic “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.”
But acting really is his focus now. “It’s two totally different worlds,” Flav says. “I’m the same person, but it’s two different things. I try to keep Flav far away from the set. I want to do movies someday. I want to do something more than just me playing myself.”
Guys n the ‘hood
Though Public Enemy, led by Chuck D and Flavor Flav, has made Roosevelt one of hip-hop’s most historic ‘hoods, that slice of the Town of Hempstead boasts many other famous residents:
Julius Erving: Basketball Hall of Famer Dr. J was born and raised in Roosevelt and graduated from Roosevelt High School (class of 1968). After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, he became a hoops legend with the New York Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Eddie Murphy: The Oscar-nominated actor was born in Brooklyn, but moved to Roosevelt, along with his brother, comedian Charlie Murphy, when he was 9, eventually graduating from Roosevelt High School. It was as the host of a talent show at the Roosevelt Youth Center in 1976 that he decided show business was for him.
Howard Stern: Although “The King of All Media” was born in Jackson Heights, Stern was raised in Roosevelt before his family moved to Rockville Centre when he was a teenager. And, as listeners of his Sirius Radio show will attest, he thinks (and talks) about his roots there all the time.
