New York in the Los Angeles Times

New York stepped up the promotion for her new VH1 show, ‘New York Goes to Hollywood’ with a Sunday Conversation with the Los Angeles Times
Here’s an excerpt:

This new show sounds like a different iteration from “Flavor of Love.” There’s probably less brawling.

Well! I don’t want to paint this perfect picture now. There’s times when I lose it. When I’m making a transition it’s usually not an easy thing. I don’t like change! I had to make a lot of changes, with my life, on the show, the cameras rolling. I do lose it

You have been on, like, six of them, if one counts “Charm School”?

Oh, my goodness. Wow. Yeah, I been floating around for a while. It just happened so fast! It’s been three years since I been on and off television. Time flies, when you’re making money on TV. I love reality television.

On those shows, did you ever feel like a circus freak?

Honestly, I have to say, ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an actress. Being in front of the camera felt so natural. Only… I think I did have to get used to being barricaded, locked down in the house, no TV, no cell, no Internet, all that stuff

  1. Aw there’s NY and the actor hired to play her father!! Oops. sorry, typo, I mean NY and her daddy. :)

  2. Lmao…that’s her Dad, yo.
You better keep your guns trained on Pumkin, ’cause we’ll fight if you do New York the way you did her, lol.

  3. lol, dont get me wrong I love NY but I don’t really think that’s her mom or dad. I do think she was an actress hired to start shit for the show. Look at how she acted in FOL1, and now in NY goes to Hollywood, two completely different people. COMPLETELY different. Miles different. She’s an actress. But i still love her…. or her “character” i guess you’d call it.

  4. well New York is no different just more entertaining. how in the hell are u scared of horses when not only do u wear their hair but u look like ur their next of kin

  5. CSO…You’re banned!!!

  6. NY actually looks cute in that pic…sike. But she looks decent. New York Goes To Hollywood is gonna flop,I feel it. She isnt entertaining unless shes talkin shit and/or arguin, and I dont see how much of that she’ll be doing on these shitty half hour installments. But I’m watching anyway

  7. When the New York hating starts increasing, you just know that a new show of hers is due to air.

New York Goes To Hollywood can’t possibly flop because every NY hater wants to see her flop, giving her twice the audience she’ll need for a success.

PREDICTION: She will eclipse three million viewers for the debut of the series.

  8. But there is no UMPH behind New York Goes To Hollywood.
Noone cares about that muppet tryna become a REAL actress and not one that creates drama and tears for TV’s sake.

  9. You might be right about it being a flop. The format of New York Goes to Hollywood might have been a bit more engrossing had they gone the way of this outdated and deleted claim once publicly posted on Wikipedia for a few minutes:

“On March 6, 2008, The Futon Critic reported that New York would star in ”New York Goes Hollywood”. The show is expected to have 10 episodes at 30 minutes each contain at least 12 people with gold teeth and at least two knock down, hair pulling brawls per episode.”

The bloke who put that shit in Wikiville to live forever is a fucking trip. [Yeah, you're chuckling to yourself, arncha, mate?]

  10. i hope her show flops like flavor flav debut album

  11. god, NY needs a father figure in her life…

oh wait, I forgot she already has Sister Patterson.

  12. This girl answer questions like a simpleton.

One of the questions in part was….”I felt like the message was white America shouldn’t look at black people acting badly”….. was totally misleading. Then NY buys into the garbage and AGREES.

Mo’Nique wanted to take a group of crazy acting skanks and try to make them into ladies, hence, the name Charm School. There were blacks, whites and one Asian ( I think) on the show. So how was this suppose to be about “black people” acting badly, and this moron had to nerve to call MO’Nique crazy.

I will watch the first episode of her show only because I want to see the “fake” break-up with her and Tailor Made.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be an actress, but why did she have to break out as a skank acting looney tunes and now try to turn it around to become a “serious” actress.

Her “fans” like the over-the-top bitch character she plays to a “T” and that is what they want to see. They won’t be interested in anything else she tries to bring to the table.

Personally,I don’t care if her show is a hit or a flop, I am too through with this fake acting skanky idiot.

  13. Lawdddd, I’m taking these New York attacks to heart.
Joann, you don’t think there is even an iota of authenticity in her.

You really think she’s a complete fake?

  14. steupz, the only thing authentic about New York, in my opinion, is she is a sknak and always will be, but she wants others to think she’s got it all together and will be going to the top.

If she really wanted to pursue a career as a “serious” actress, no way in hell would she come back with another show STILL acting and looking like the same skank she did on her previous shows.

I don’t even think she knows what a “real” actress is.

So yea, in my opinion, there is nothing “real” about her.
