Enigmatic’s New York Goes to Hollywood Recap: Episode 2
After the disastrous showcase from the day before, New York talks to Lizza (her personal assistant) about still wanting to find a manager.
Lizza shares this sentiment with her until they receive a phone call. The call is from Chuck Binder, who coincidentally happens to be a manager, and wants to have a meeting with New York (She gets what she wants in a matter of hours here. Does this mean I can go to Hollywood and get a bag of money in like 6 hours?)
New York is excited about meeting with Chuck and goes off to see him immediately. At the meeting, Chuck tells New York she has the potential to be a great crossover actress. He tells her he can see her being like another Queen Latifah (Uh. I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be a compliment or an insult.)
Lizza then cuts in to ask whom he has represented in the past. Chuck mentions some names (just old, white celebrities who got famous around the time I was born)
Lizza continues to ask questions and dominates the conversation. Chuck stops Lizza by telling her he wants to hear from New York. New York says she sees herself wanting to be as famous as Queen Latifah, Chris Rock, and Will Smith.
Chuck ends the meeting but not before telling New York that he as already set up two auditions with Casting Directors for her. New York is excited about the auditions and she goes to see the casting directors immediately.
At the first meeting, New York arrives and sees a girl who is also there auditioning. The girl immediately recognizes New York and as she tries to read her lines, the girl continues to interrupt her causing New York to act rudely towards her to get her to be quiet.
The girl, named Kelly, goes in to do her audition and New York practices her lines some more. She struggles to read her lines because there are so many ‘big words’ (Well I do know what ‘legislative’ and ‘authoritative’ mean but don’t expect me to say those words correctly…ever.)
Kelly comes out and the Casting Director praises her for doing well. Now it’s New York’s turn to audition.
The audition is to play the role of Condoleeza Rice.
After the Casting Director introduces herself and asks a few questions, she prompts New York to start. New York starts and does the first line fine until she starts stumbling over the words. The Casting Director stops her and gives her a chance to try again. She tries again and the second reading turns out to be worse than the first.
The Casting Director stops her again to tell her that she isn’t suited for the part. New York starts crying about how much she wants the part, but the casting director doesn’t listen (What the hell are you crying for?)
New York feels defeated but she goes to the next audition hoping things turn out better. When she arrives at the second audition, she notices that Kelly is there, too. New York is visibly annoyed by her presence but she just practices her lines while Kelly auditions. When Kelly comes out she tells New York and the other girl waiting to audition to “break a leg” causing New York to go off again.
This time she has a minor back and forth confrontation with Kelly but the Casting Director stops them and asks New York to come in and do her audition.
This Casting Director tells New York the part requires her to have a southern accent. New York does it and plays her part but the reading was a little sloppy and overly dramatic.
The Casting Director tells her she needs to work on eye contact, connect with the character and to not touch the Casting Director. The Casting Director then tells her to try again but with more eye contact and connection to the character. New York tries again and does remarkably better, but the casting director recommends acting classes for her.
The next morning, Chuck calls to ask New York about her auditions.
New York hesitates but she eventually says she needs to enroll in some acting classes.
Chuck informs her that he already has an acting class set up for her.
New York goes to her acting class and lo and behold, Kelly is there once again (Ok, this coincidental shit is getting scary now.)
The instructor Scott Sedita comes in to greet the class and upon noticing New York’s presence in the class, he informs her that she has to play a game (Damn. I don’t like games.)
He asks her and another fledgling actor to come up then tells New York she has to do a type of improvisational dialogue with her fellow actor, but they have to keep using the same phrase in some form.
New York has to use “I want you to love me” while her co-star has to use “I want us to be friends” (This should be easy, I mean there’s video proof of her doing this already.)
They play the game getting more and more intense as time passes until the game gets a little carried away. They stop and Scott says the performance was good but a little dramatic towards the end.
New York isn’t pleased with the feedback but accepts it, humbly.
Kelly then comments about the performance being pretty good for a first timer. New York then goes off on her once again but this time they get into an argument that interrupts the entire class. They go back and forth while Scott tries to stop them with no avail.
Scott then pulls New York into his office. She tells him about her previous encounters with Kelly while continuing to call her a ‘bitch’.
In the ‘Confessional’, New York says she feels embarrassed about the outburst and hope it did not leave a bad impression (Well it’s too late for that).
Scott leaves to call Kelly into his office so that she and New York can apologize and talk out their differences. They go back and forth again calling each other bitches while neither one will admit they are bitches themselves.
Scott gets tired of their talking and tells them “You are both bitches now get the fuck out.”
New York leaves and laments about things not going too well for her so far.
While she waits for Lizza to pick her up, (Does she not drive?) her co-star from the ‘improv’ comes out to give her words of encouragement. New York is absolutely struck by his looks and is determined to make him her new acting partner. After he leaves, New York is left out there to continue to wait impatiently for Lizza.

DEAD @ ‘bitch you here to fetch me drinks’
Lmao!
Lmao, my girl is back… ‘watch me do it baby; and do it lovely’ (snaps fingers)
New York is the HBIC!!!!!
Oh my lawd at ‘he probably doesn’t know struggle’ and ‘take the high road all the way to hell, bitch’
Hahahaha…. ‘you might be a bitch but I am the HBIC’
Falls out! Lmao
I haven’t been up to sitting through this show yet so I’m relying on your great recaps, Matic
=)
You can’t sit through 30 mins of New York? SMH
how scripted. i didnt get to watch tonight so i’ll catch the repeat. new york is back to her old self i see
has vh1 interviewed chance yet?
Not yet Peachy; neither have they interviewed Destiney.
I don’t think Chance ever does interviews.
The chance of seeing the same person in that short period of time is like a gazillon to one. This show is scripted to the point of ridiculousness.
NY can’t even pronounce “legislation”. Damn.
I don’t know who is writing these scripts, but they do a good job of keeping that moron “scripted stupid”.
Is anybody watching this dumbass show??????? She is not relevant unless she is chasing Flav. I will be glad when this crap goes off. But I will be honest…. I always enjoy checkin out those fun bags.
This line-up of shows makes me miss America’s Most Smartest Model
Does Chance do interviews? They probably keep Chance away from normal people. Anyone who says some of the things that come out of his mouth should be kept away from microphones and telephones.
Wazzup Steups?
steupz,
I keep forgetting to ask you this question.
How do you pronounce the name of your site?
Is it:
1. Bour gee or
2. Boo gee or
none of the above.
SHIT!! I loved this episode, much more than the first and i liked the first episode, too. Okay, so i loved New York’s defenses against the girl, kelly. She really seemed similiar to alot of the things she said in Flavor of Love.
Some people say, new york has changed soo much since Flavor of Love, i disagree, she id still the same!!! Did you see the extras to episode 1, she had a line up!!!! Hello, Flavor of Love 2!!!
I really get sick of hearing people say that New York is just a reality star and she will never do acting because she can only deal with reality tv. Well i feel that reality tv does not effect her acting career, because she can still make it in hollywood even if her past included reailty tv. If Marlyn Streep had a past of reality tv, would that make her less of an actress? NOOOOO. Her reality tv career does not make her a bad actress.
I think that chance does do interviews, but they never post them because they do not know what to write when he gets pisted and mummbles and spits everywhere, with bitch, fuck, slut, and whore, being heard every now and then!!! lol
‘Sup Jorundi; I don’t think he’s big on ‘em. I don’t know how he’ll survive without Whiteboy on his new show (if the rumor is true)
Then again, I won’t be surprised if Whiteboy made a couple guest appearances.
Heather, I miss that show too; but I fear it’s one of those that can only owrk with the original cast.
Joann; either will do, but I kinda say it like the way an Irishman would say ‘poor’, so I’d go with the 2nd one, but at an ‘r’ at the end.
Remember it comes from bourgeois
Most Smartest Model 2 is happening… And I can’t wait!
It looks like Little Jackie (theme song for show) will be the producer that argues with New York’s mom.

“I’m going to have to ask you to step outside if you continue” Chucky, the collar popping, teeth whitening manager.
AMSM will definitely have something missing without Andre. Ooh maybe they’ll use him to replace the crabby lady judge
