Enigmatic’s New York Goes To Hollywood Recap: Episode 4

New York speaks to Lizza on New York Goes To Hollywood.jpgEpisode 4 starts with New York commenting about things going pretty well so far.

While waiting for Lizza to arrive, New York receives a call from Chuck (her manager) informing her that ‘In Touch’ magazine will come to her house later, to do a photo shoot. New York is absolutely excited about the photo-shoot because she loves the magazine, but her excitement is cut short when she realizes the house is in disarray (Well at least it wasn’t as bad as FOL 3)

Instead of cleaning, New York impatiently waits for a late-again Lizza, to arrive. When Lizza finally arrives New York chides her for her tardiness, while telling her about the photo shoot with ‘In Touch” and how the house is a mess. Lizza immediately starts cleaning before she stops to take another phone call.  This time the phone call is from Sister Patterson who rudely asks to speak to New York.

At first, New York is excited to take her call until she learns the phone call is really an advance “coming for a visit in an hour call.” New York’s emotions immediately go from genuine excitement to cringing disdain. New York describes her relationship with Sister Patterson as a “love/crazy” relationship because she loves her but she makes her crazy. Lizza immediately goes off to pick Sister Patterson up while New York continues to get ready for her photo shoot.

When Sister Patterson arrives, New York is happy to see her and they chat about New York’s experiences in Hollywood, thus far. When New York tells Sister Patterson about the auditions, the commercial, the acting classes and Chuck Binder; Sister Patterson immediately shows her “face of disapproval” at the fact that New York is in an acting class and she now wants to meet Chuck.

Sister Patterson on New York Goes To Hollywood.jpgSister Patterson then goes on to comment that people in Hollywood are fake and they will use people only to further their best interests (But there are fake people everywhere. Hollywood is only different because everyone gets fake bodies to match their fake personalities)

Sister Patterson finishes by commenting that New York would be better off trying to pursue her career back in New York and that the ‘Lord’ would be a much better manager for her. New York quickly realizes that Sister Patterson is only visiting to inject herself into the pursuit of New York’s career.

Later, ‘In Touch’ magazine arrives at the house.

While everyone is setting up, Sister Patterson watches on and comments on the photographer taking pictures of New York as she is still getting her make-up done. Sister Patterson then moves on to talk to the wardrobe person about how cheap and horrible the jewelry and dresses look (This is In Touch not Vogue. I wasn’t expecting to see stuff from Christian Dior and Kay Jewelers)

Later, Sister Patterson makes her way to the living-room photo shoot where she interrupts the photographer once again to point out New York’s bra showing through the dress (Sounds familiar anyone…FOL 2? “Hint, hint.” A Do as I say not as I do moment)

Finally after Sister Patterson gives her approval of the pictures, the photo shoot wraps up and New York is relieved that it wasn’t a complete disaster.

Hours later, New York, Sister Patterson and Lizza wind down with a nice dinner. The dinner is all but New York In Touch Magazine Feature Pic.jpgnice because Sister Patterson bosses Lizza around excessively, and then advises New York that Lizza may not be a good personal-assistant for her. When the dinner ends and Lizza prepares to leave, Sister Patterson insults Lizza about her hair (saying it’s unkempt) and her shoes (because they are noisy).

The next morning, New York gets a call from Chuck and when she mentions that her mother is there for a visit, Chuck invites them both, to a meeting at his ranch. New York is reluctant to go because she feels that he may have horses there.

New York and Sister Patterson arrive at the ranch where they meet Chuck and his friend Lynn. New York comments that Lynn looks like she should be a ranch-hand, other than a friend of Chuck. Chuck greets them both and tries to make small talk but it doesn’t go well because a long, awkward silence, follows. To break the silence, Chuck asks New York if she would like to play a game of tennis. Thinking that playing tennis would be better than dealing with horses, New York obliges.

New York and Chuck play tennis but it’s clearly obvious that New York is horrible at it so after a while they stop and Chuck offers lunch (She obviously sucks at outdoor activities of any kind so can we stop letting her murder this too).

At lunch, Lynn tries to ask New York questions about her reality TV career and if she has any type of theatrical experience but before New York could say anything, Sister Patterson interrupted every question by answering, “The sky’s the limit.” and “The Lord will make her a superstar.” New York finally comments that Lynn’s questions make everything seem like an interview.

Seeing that the atmosphere at lunch is becoming uncomfortable, Chuck pulls New York aside to inform New York plays tennis on New York Goes To Hollywood.jpgNew York that Lynn is actually a movie producer. New York is mortified to learn that she may have embarrassed herself and made a bad first impression. To make amends, New York goes back to the table acting more polite and sucking up to Lynn and Chuck (I would give this like a 4 out of 10 on the sucking up scale. It would probably be higher if I hadn’t seen how bad Rodeo was last week)

Chuck then asks Lynn about the projects she is currently working on. Lynn mentions that she is casting for a new movie and although the main roles are reserved for ‘A-List’ stars; she mentions that she is still looking to cast for some solid supporting roles. Sister Patterson scoffs and goes into her superstar mantra again while everyone else at the table starts to feel a little annoyed at her display.

When Lynn prepares to leave, she asks New York to walk her to her car. New York goes with Lynn and when they are alone, Lynn tells New York that she will e-mail the script to Chuck so he can pass it on to her. She goes on to say that if she were to only work with New York then everything should go well but she mentions that she would be very reluctant to work with New York, if Sister Patterson continues to be a prominent figure in her career.

New York timidly agrees with her, and promises to have a talk with her mother.

Finally, New York and Sister Patterson leave the ranch and the episode closes with New York feeling unsure about how to tell Sister Patterson to butt out of her career.

  1. Now the return of Sister Patterson as NY prepares fo the In Touch photo shoot. I honestly feel sorry for the designers and Liza because SP is truely a *** and I honestly would love to reach through the tv just to pimp slap her forwards and backwards. How can she try to tell others how to do their jobs and she’s not experienced enough to do their jobs for them? I would love to see someone check her for once since NY failed to do it on ILNY 1 and 2. How can NY be the HBIC if she can’t stand up to her mother when she crosses the line? NY is no baby anymore or maybe she still is.

  2. steups i wanna see your packaged and I’m not talking about grocery Either wink wink

  3. I’ll send you a picture through MySpace, SR.

  4. who this chick your new girl steups

  5. No pimp, lol.
Sexy Rican is a good friend of mine… known her for a couple of years now.

  6. holy shit the extras to this show are so much better than the show itself (surprise) WTF didnt they put the car ride home with Sister Patterson / Liza and the extended “YOU’RE LATE” fight in for? WTF Give me a damn video slicer and contract my ass is taking over Vh1.

  7. Lmao… say more Corey.
I haven’t seen it and Enigmatic is heading to bed.

  8. This is the first episode I’ve watched…. and once again Vh1 hasn’t failed us to cut out the good stuff. I’d prefer you just watched the extras rather than the episode. Enig. didn’t add the bitchiest thing Satan Patterson said in the episode though. She was scolding some sort of In Touch director and she’s like “For Future reference …. blah blah blah so next time you can do your job right”

Liza is going to need to be hospitalized after this show, that poor thing. She has a mouth on her though. She’s been late every time, I think and next week she calls in sick and Satan Patterson flips out. Then yells at some record producer and walks out and brings NY with her.

The show moves by way too fast though, it’s really choppy, but hey they’re working with only 30 minutes around the most fucked up family since… well… ever.

  9. Corey they always cut off the good stuff. So you guys havent figure out who Lizzy really is? What surpise me is how the hell did they get her and Lynn to come on the show. I was hoping he would ask her about previous movies to throw it in NY mom face.

She need to get rid of her attitude along with her mother. Directors and producers talk so NY is going to have to make alot of major changes if she want to survive in the movie world.

Last atleast dont you all love how her mom had jealousy all over face. She wants a piece of the pie too.

  10. Who is Lizzy…. Shawn? lol Enlighten us please.

  11. Sister Patterson is a BITCH!!!! She will mess thing up for New York. NY need to put her in her place. It not funny anymore.

    Who is Liza? Please share…

  12. Hi there, I’m with you Corey the EXTRAS are 10 times funnier than the show itself. I would like to see more of Lizza going at it with Tiffany and her HeShe mother. I love that she doesn’t back down but yet doesn’t take it to far over the line. She is the classiest out of the bunch and whoever she is, she is the diamond in the ruff for this show. Sadly, Tiffany doesn’t realize she is the best thing she has going for her right now. Corey, how did you find out she called in sick? I saw that quick promo for next week but it wasn’t clear if she really doesn’t come to work (shoot, I wouldn’t as long as that Planet of the Apes woman is there) or not. Do spill what you know..

  13. Lizzy is playing the personal assistant to NY.

  14. Hey Steupz you know I came across the most random thing yesterday.. I have a thing about having to watch a movies credits role all the way through…anywho I watched the everso so stupid “Epic Movie” and the musical credits listed 1 Tika Rainn, for one of the songs, huh. Wasn’t she “Sweetie” on the 1st FOL, and of AGT booing fame?

  15. @ Shawn…no…who is she in real life? What do she really do? What have she been in or done?

Sister Patterson is trying hard to get a show out of the deal. What is she talking about, NY was born with it. Even the best Actor or Actress took classes. Go suck a spoil boil egg LADY!!!

Lizza is the one making the show watchable (if that is a word)…I love her. Go Lizza, Go Lizza…it your show!!!

  16. I am not a Sister Patterson fan. She is a train wreck waiting to happen. The only thing that She can do worthwhile is to get rid of Lizza. Lizza is sabotaging any chance of New York being successful with anything.

With Lizza AND Sister Patterson both there, New York doesn’t have a chance.

  17. Does anyone else think that this visit was planned? A photo shoot and Sister Patterson “randomly” shows up for a visit.

  18. Wait Shawn, do you know something that we don’t? Who is Lizzy besides NY’s personal assistant? I don’t recognize her from any other reality TV shows nor have I seen her in any movies. LOL@Satan Paterson. That was clever. Satan P is a bitch, but I don’t think NY can check her, because the bitch looks like she will take a knife and stab her own daughter in the face.

  19. Sway, I think the whole show is planned. I don’t think anything about the show is real. But it’s still hilarious to watch. I LOOOOOOOVE New York’s conmmentary!!!

  20. @jorundi- I totally disagree with you, getting rid of Lizza would totally ruin the show. I agree with Babygirl-Pebbles she is the only thing that makes this show funny. At least with watching the online clips of it all. She actually does know what she is doing, if you go over the things she has done in the past (owning her own PR firm was among the things she said in episode 4 when her mom was going to girl her.) But if you noticed in the extra clip online when the editor jacked up the reel, she started telling them how to edit it right to make it the way she and Tiffany had requested. And a voice (I’m assuming it’s a producer, because they were never on camera or were introduced) tells Lizza to stop and that she is going over her job description and that they will take the heat if Tiffany gets mad. Lizza responds to the guy at the theater that I guess they will go with what they have because they aren’t letting her do her job. Then the valet had her car towed outside Joesph’s before the towing time was even supposed to start. It seems to me that Lizza is really trying to do her job like she has for clients in the past that she talks about in Episode 1 but that the producers are setting her up to fail and sabotaging her efforts so that Tiffany gets mad at her and they get the drama. I think that is how they get away with saying it is softly scripted, they set up the cast in real life scenarios against each other without telling them and play both sides and then let them loose like roosters in a fight to the death. As you can tell from watching the tv show and then the clips online the editing totally changes a scene. Either way, Lizza deserves a medal for letting that craziness roll off of her and laughing it off. She obviously has had whack job clients like that in the past!! Initially, I watched the show for NY but after seeing how horrible she is and truly how crazy desperate for attention her mom is, Lizza has become my fave new character..lol I want to see her walk off on those looney tunes and dump them for the Hills. LOL

  21. @Tasha…speak it girl!!! We need Lizza or the show will be a flop!!! I agree with you 1000%.

  22. I think I mentioned I liked Lizza before but she does not make the show so much. She does keep it exciting. If she has a true shot I think she can really help Tiffany.

Anyway, this episode with patterson showing up was okay but she is just insane. Who treats people trying to help their daughter the way she does? She is no one without Tiffany yet she tries to take all the attention and it’s negative attention she gets. Not a good thing at all.

If she had any sense, she would be at her own home trying to get people to watch the show instead of trying to get in the act on the television. She makes Tiffany and herself look trashy.

It’s funny because Tiffany can come across as really shy when she isn’t cursing someone out. I think she may need to take some Miss Manners classes…….but not to lose all of her natural charisma but just to help her come across more cultured.

I know it sounds weird but I think she has potential.
