I think the thing is that we hardcore fans were spoiled by the golden age of these shows which for me was from FOL1-ILM1. I’ll give you some examples; one of my favorite rock bands used to be The Cure. I thought Disintegration, which came out in 1989 was a masterpiece; one of the best albums ever produced. Now, they’re trying to sound like every trendy emo and punk-pop band out there so I don’t like them anymore. I know what they sound like when they’re at they’re best so I got spoiled. The same with hip-hop, I got spoiled by hearing groups like Public Enemy and Run-DMC and A Tribe Called Quest. I just can’t get into today’s hip-hop that much.

I’m one of the few people here that didn’t think DOL was so bad. It had plenty of drama and fighting, something that most people here love but they just didn’t give it a chance because of the host. It’s not like Bret Michaels himself was all that entertaining. I think we need to have a little bit more patience when it comes to these new shows and people. That being said, 51 Minds does need to try their asses of to make sure that fan favorites are on a show at least once a year and not resort to trying to make lames like Tamara into stars.
