Considering I pass this temple on a regular basis, I’m sadden to say I didn’t see her there on this particular day.

i actually think combining a photo shoot to intertwine with a “right” that people should have is creative and nonetheless courageous.
I dont think she was doing it for attention.
I think on some level it is about attention, I mean, it is a shoot. Creative? Sure, but there was massive potential that wasn’t realized or fully incorporated such as the american flag (which is hardly seen in the BG) to the misuse of the bars. She should of been on the other end of this fence looking out with tape in full force while the flag waves above both overshadowing the temple and herself. It just takes the right angle and some trespassing. Would of been a bit more courageous.
But this is fine I guess.

Rod1mus, what camera brand & model do you use for outdoor photography?
I own and use several DSLRs. Any of which can be used outdoors. But the key difference isn’t in the body of the camera itself, but what lens you use. If you’re doing something like portraits, you’d want to use something like a 55mm/85mm prime. 85 can be a bit much, but I tend to favor it sometimes.
If you’re outdoors, I’d say go with a wide lens. Since I assume you’re going to be taking pics of just about anything, you’re going to want something that doesn’t require a lot focusing. In other words, a wide (which is standard in consumer digital cameras) allows you to point in shoot without worrying about much else. Sure, everything will be in focus (from BG to FG) but that’s the price you pay for mobility and ease of use.
Sorry, I think this is a bit much. It all depends on what exactly you want to accomplish.

What would you recommend to a pariah like me? I hear you, about the lens, but what type of cam should I use as a tourist?
If you just want to go around and snap shots of things here and there, then I’d go with an Olympus. Any camera will do the job actually.

Although a bit more expensive, they’re built tough. Waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof. I own one and it’s been reliable. But head on over to a Best Buy or something and test them all out. See what looks best to you in terms of quality and price.
