This iz craziness. It seems though with “The Tournament”, VH1 learned its lesson real quick and got 51Minds back on track. Now just get that other show back on air and we’ll be good lol
The way these ratings are looking, there will probably only be 400,000 people watching VH1 by the time July gets here.
But the ratings went up a whole lot. And frank’s ratings aren’t posted.

Where the hell is ILM? Bring flava flav back he aint doin nothin serious. Rock of love needs to return asap. Its a shame ILM hasnt aired yet. VH1 will suffer without 51 minds. If rock of love comes back they need to bring it back to where it all started…a mansion. Not on the road cuz that was rediculous.
Oh yea, what’s worse, the mainstream media thinks Jessica Simpson’s show is a fail because she’s been everywhere the last 3 weeks and that should have somehow translated into more viewers than this. I think her show will be a fail because very few shows grow from their premiere numbers, however I think all her publicity might have pushed the show just barely over a million because I don’t see how the premise of her show is that interesting for people to want to watch.
Matic, what might be interesting to some would be the VH1 ratings for the same slots before the Flavor of Love show or even Strange Love… for comparison sake. Might be hard to get old numbers, though. Might be even harder to convince a grump to even care.
But with these Matic’s Ratings posts, ya gotta wonder if VH1 even thinks they still have a sustainable formula here without Flav and NY… or without reverting back to vids all day. Just wondering…
I have numbers for a few shows/specials dating all the way back to 2003 and from what I’ve found 95% of those shows got higher ratings than all these shows on this list right now. The majority of pre FOL ratings I have are from 2005 (the Surreal Life/Strange love era).
Dayum. So VH1 is kinda hoirtin.
Then I guess their only saving grace MIGHT be the cost of producing these shows versus *those* shows per ratings point.

I love “The Price of Beauty” its a great concept for a show & it helps open some of the eyes of the ignorant.
I know I actually gave it a shot. Not bad at all. I’ll continue watching sort of hard to find a reality show that isn’t all trash.
I like it too. It’s hard to find an entertaining reality show that isn’t complete trash. (But I love Trashy reality tv too.)

2/03-Living with Michael Jackson- 1.7 million (VH1 bought this from ABC and this is what the first showing got)
8/03- I Love the 70′s- 1.2 million (average for the week)
10/03- I Love the 80′s- 956,000 (premiere but the series averaged 1.2 million for the week)
7/04- I Love the 90′s- 1.2 million (average for the week)
9/04- Surreal Life 3 (premiere)- 1.7 million (This was the first VH1 season of Surreal Life. The CW aired the first 2 seasons)
10/04- Hip Hop Honors- 1.0 million (this was the first one. The most recent one back in October got 2.1 million viewers)
1/05- Surreal Life 4 (premiere)- 2.3 million
1/05-Celebrity Fit Club 1 (premiere)- 1.5 million
1/05-Strange Love (premiere)-1.8 million
7/05-Hogan Knows Best 1 (premiere) 2.7 million
So yea. There’s a little bit more than this but I don’t feel like typing. To put things in perspective though, the FOL1 premiere got 1.3 million viewers so to say VH1 wasn’t doing anything before FOL might not be true. FOL just put VH1 on the cable juggernaut map for 2006 and 2007; that’s all.
Okay. Good lookin’ out on the ratings edjumacation. I had certainly erred in thinking that Flav’s ratings were the start.
Yet, it might seem as if VH1 shows “jumped the shark” after the FOL-NY shows wrapped up.
The decline began with FOL3. While it would be doing really great by today’s standards, it was airing at basically the same time as ROL2 and getting a million viewers less than ROL2 but after both shows ended, only 5 shows since then (May 2008-now) have had a season average near or above 2 million (RCOL1, FTLORJ1, Tough Love 1 and both seasons of ILM).
… on the verge of a two-year drought, it would seem. The 2 ILM seasons sitting on the shelf don’t help much either.
Sober House 2 is the shit. Great show.

I got bored of Sober House and Celebrity Rehab because it got kinda’ repetitive.
If VH1 seriously is done with the show I’m not going to mention, at least make a bad girls club clone. Get 8 – 15 of vh1′s bad girls and put them in a house. If they pick the right people for it and not annoying people or mute people like Brittanya, K.O., and Junk, it could definitely pull in the ratings, I think.
“The Price of Beauty” is a great concept; Jessica Simpson is not the right choice. Sure she looks pretty. Does she has anything interesting to say? She can’t have both way – pretending to be stupid and intelligent at the same time. Why did she triple her “southern accent” for last two weeks when promoted the show? Fake accent made her look phony or manipulating. Who wants to watch Jessica preaches? “Hey Paula” formula might work better for her.
